Sunlight Law, Pllc is currently considering applicants for the position of Bilingual Paralegals. Bilingual Paralegal/Legal Assistant

Bilingual paralegals at Sunlight Law are responsible for planning and developing the legal process of each case. Paralegals engage in direct communication with attorneys and clients to ensure the most efficient actions are taken to achieve the clients’ goals. Because our clients are predominantly monolingual Spanish speaking, Paralegals are conversational in the Spanish language.

Specific Responsibilities include:                                   

  • Conduct intake with potential clients focused on determining whether we can help and the appropriate attorney fees.

  • Manage client files by establishing definite goals and deadlines.

  • Receive calls and in-person visits from clients. 

  • Research and draft legal briefs and memoranda and help clients answer written pleadings.

  • Communicate with clients to assist in obtaining documents required for their case.

  • File and serve pleadings in federal and state courts.

  • Retrieve, organize and summarize client medical, employment, and other records to be used in litigation.

  • Track and log billable hours and prepare client billings.

  • Marketing in the form of networking events and social media participation to stay connected to our clients.

  • Embody the highest ethical, professional and work ethic standards in furthering our client’s goals.

  • Help supervise and lead other team members as needed.

  • Perform administrative tasks and bookkeeping as needed.

  • Upholding Sunlight Law’s mission.

Paralegals are expected to serve about 30-50 clients at a time (this number may vary depending on the type of cases). One year of experience in the legal field is required. Training provided for the right candidate. 2 weeks of PTO, 1 week of sick leave and federal holidays off. Pay ranges from $13-$27/hour depending on experience.
